Noah “Bud” Ogle built this cabin in the late 1880s. This is the only “saddlebag” cabin in the park, meaning that the homestead consists of two cabins sharing a single chimney. The two sections were built approximately five years apart, the second cabin being added as Ogle’s family grew.
This image was shot during the spring of 2012. The new leaves on the trees were a fresh vibrant green and I wanted this tree branch to be noticeable as i used it to frame the cabin. I used a green filter to lighten the leaves and to cut contrast. I thought this turned out really well.
