Yesterday evening I decided to get away and spend some time at the beach. I was debating on whether I should use the drone or the Canon; but since there was a fairly strong wind I opted for the latter. It was cloudy and I had hoped for some really good color at sunset but unfortunately it never materialized.

Rocks at Marineland
Image No 477

I have been coming to Marineland for many years taking pictures. By far this is Florida’s most beautiful beach! This rocky stretch of beach is about 17 miles south of St Augustine on State Road A1A. There is a large parking area there and the rocky formations lay south of the Marineland oceanarium, famous for swimming with dolphins. For anyone who is interested in history, Marineland has a cool history that is worth reading about. You can see it here on Wikipedia….https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marineland_of_Florida.

This was taken with the camera facing north. Marineland oceanarium is shown in the distance (top left of the image). Note: the leaning palm trees are not actually leaning, but is distortion from using a wide angle lens.
