I have always admired the Veterans Memorial Park in Palatka. There are a set of four World War I statues on each corner of the bridge, there is a submarine memorial for the USS Tang, a water fountain and this clock tower.

The image above was taken at about 30 feet above St. Johns Avenue. The clock tower was dedicated to the park in 2000 and is known as the “Millennial Clock Tower”. Last year the clock tower was relocated, and now stands right at the end of St. Johns Avenue. On this evening, I decided to put the drone up to capture the clock tower with the bridge spanning over the St. Johns River in the background.

This image was taken at about 65 feet up with the camera aimed down slightly. This shot is a composite of two images. One for the foreground, and the other for the sky above. They were captured at the same time. Both images were taken on July 26, 2022.

I am going to do a photo series on the city of Palatka. These captures are just the beginning of what is to come.
