I took a little drive to the beach in hopes of capturing a couple of shots. I saw this large rock with several holes in it, and watched how the water was crashing over and around it. I wanted to use the movement of the water to isolate the rock from the rest of the rocks that were there. I set up the camera and composed this image using this rock to fill the lower frame. I set the dimensions in camera to 4:5 to better match what I would usually shoot if I were using film. I used a couple of ND filters; a 1.2 ND (4 stop reduction) to make the exposure longer and I added a 2 stop gradient to hold back the sky a little to emphasize more on the foreground. The sky was the most beautiful magenta-pink hue that only lasted for only a few minutes. This beach is one of my very favorite beaches to go to.
Thank you for looking!!! Comments are always welcome.
