I was running out of ideas of good subjects to shoot for some night photography. I was walking through a Walmart when I noticed a display of all sorts of beach items. When I saw the beach umbrella and chair, I decided that I had to have it. When the next full moon came around I took off for the beach! Naturally I went to my most favorite beach of all, Marineland. It was low tide, mostly clear above me but there were clouds and lightning over the ocean. I set up my umbrella, positioned the chair beneath it and went back to the truck to grab my gear.
After I had settled in and started shooting, I noticed a bright flashlight behind me. I turned around and it was a deputy. The first thing that came to mind was “Oh no, I’m in trouble now!” He politely asked me what I was doing, and I told him that I was taking pictures. I pulled out my phone and shown him some of my work that I had on my website. He seemed impressed and said that he didn’t see any harm in what I was doing, and left. So I continued to shoot until nearly sunrise.
