The Catfish Festival was a pretty good event, and there were many people showing a lot of interest. However, although there was a lot of traffic, I didn’t sell any prints during this show. Truthfully, the goal was more about sharing my work with others and getting the name out to the public. This was definitely accomplished as I received a lot of positive feedback. I also took away some valuable lessons of doing art shows, and it will allow me to make changes and improve on what I currently have. So for the first go around, this wasn’t bad and the results were as expected.  I have some ideas that I will be incorporating for the next show, and I will share these ideas when the time comes.

I was surprised to find that there was one picture that really stood out from all the rest. This one image was the most popular and drew more people’s attention than any other I had in the booth.  More people commented and stared at this one image as it held peoples interests the longest.  A couple times people offered up stories of a cabin similar to that one here locally, and how the inside of the cabin was lined with old newspapers, dating back to 1901.  They were used as insulation back in the day.

I will do more shows in the future, but the next show will be very different.  I am going to incorporate some changes and it will be a little more thought put into it than this last one. Thank you all for the encouragement and support…
