I was asked to photograph a wedding, that happened last Saturday, March 6th. Other than attending weddings and taking a few candid shots, I have never been “the photographer”. So, this is officially my first time ever attempting to “capture the moment” on this couple’s special day.

Jake and Elyse in Wine Glass

I spent some time before the wedding setting up the wine glass for this shot. I had taken several different shots of the glass, finally I settled upon this shot. I used a picture light mounted above to illuminate the glass and silk flowers. When I captured this shot of the couple kissing, this was a perfect insertion to place here, there seemed to be a natural heart around this beautiful couple!

Married Family under Wedding Arch

I made good use of the drone by hovering above the wedding arch to get this picture.

For a first attempt at photographing weddings, I think it turned out really well. One really cool aspect about doing this kind of photography is that you are only limited by your imagination. The wine glass idea is one that I had thought of a long time ago and it took some time to get it exactly where I wanted it. This creative image is a bonus to the wedding pictures that were taken that day.

Landscape photography is still my favorite above all. I will be having some new work coming soon.
