St. Patrick’s Day, or the ‘Feast of St. Patrick’, is an Irish cultural and religious celebration held every year on March 17th, on the traditional day of Saint Patrick’s death.  Saint Patrick was a patron saint of Ireland. Born in Roman Britain in the late 4th century, he was kidnapped at the age of 16 and taken to Ireland as a slave. He escaped but returned about 432 ce to convert the Irish to Christianity. By the time of his death on March 17, 461, he had established monasteries, churches, and schools. Many legends grew up around him—for example, that he drove the snakes out of Ireland and used the shamrock to explain the Trinity.

“Milo on St. Patrick’s Day”

A simple set-up to photograph Milo for St. Patrick’s Day! Milo certainly has more gold than I do, along with a shot glass of his favorite Irish whiskey!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th) and the First Day of Spring (March 20th)
