September is here and Autumn is quickly approaching! The month of September brings longer nights and cooler weather. This is the time of year when we start to see the leaves change color from shades of green to the colorful hues of reds, oranges, and yellows. This is also the time of year when we start to see pumpkins, scarecrows, and hayrides.
A Photo Shoot with Milo
Milo says, “fall is in the air!” Milo said he can’t wait for cooler weather. This means he can go for more rides instead of being left home alone because of it being too hot in the vehicle. This also means he can go for walks without having to worry about protecting his little feet from the hot asphalt; and most important of all, the season means that there is more yummy food to fall his way! Yes, fall is Milo’s favorite time of the year!
I put together this Autumn scene for a little photo shoot of Milo. I purchased all of the props from Hobby Lobby and ordered the background from the internet. Hobby Lobby had envelopes of different colored leaves that I thought worked out well for this photo shoot. When these pictures were taken, pumpkins were not yet in season, so I had to opt for a couple of foam pumpkins instead.
Milo enjoys doing these little photo shoots! When he sees me setting up the photo booth, he is full of excitement and joy! He knows that if he performs well, he will be earning a lot of yummy treats.
In the past, I have set up flash units to light the entire scene. I have found that using the lighting in the house, with daylight bulbs, produces a more evenly lit image. Increasing the ISO to 3200 to capture a decent exposure seems to work out well. Surprisingly, there is little noise in the image from using an ISO that high. I would probably benefit from using strobe lighting versus flash alone. That will be an investment for later.
