On this photo shoot, I had a little scare. I drove down Roaring Fork Motor Trail to photograph the Reagan Mill. When I got there, I placed 3 small LED lanterns inside to illuminate the interior. I set up the camera on it’s tripod and waited until it was dark enough to photograph the mill where it would balance the light between the inside and out. While waiting for the light to get right, I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. It was a bear walking within 25 to 30 feet from where I was standing. It was a young bear, though not a cub. He acted like he didn’t even notice that I was there. He walked on by with a purpose in mind as he dropped behind this very building towards the creek. I didn’t take his picture simply because I wasn’t prepared for that situation.
